Position Title:                                  Annual Fund Manager

Supervises:                                     Development Coordinators (2)

Reports to:                                      Director of Development

Based in Lynnwood, WA and celebrating 50 years, PAWS is a champion for animals – rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, sheltering and adopting homeless cats and dogs, and educating people to make a better world for animals and people.      

Purpose of Position:

The Annual Fund Manager oversees PAWS’ annual giving program. This position manages the donor relations staff and assists with other donor directed fundraising activities as needed/directed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In accordance with organizational policies, duties include but are not limited to:

Strategy and Leadership

  • Works closely with the Director of Development & the marketing and communications team to develop, implement and evaluate detailed annual plan to meet annual fund development goals.
  • Develop and monitor annual revenue and expense budgets for the annual fund.
  • Oversee and guide the work of the Development Coordinators. Preparing annual evaluations.
  • Sets Annual Fund t department goals and plans.
  • Develop strategies to increase number of donors, average gift, and donor retention.

Annual Fund

  • Analyze donor data and recommend/implement fundraising strategies to grow Annual Fund
  • Create and manage donor acquisition and cultivation strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategies for:

Direct mail

E-appeals and online donations

Acknowledgments and inserts

Monthly Giving

Vehicle Donation Program

Tribute donations

Workplace giving

Kennel and wildlife sponsorships

Other duties as assigned.

Controls over Work:

The Annual Fund Manager reports to the Director of Development, but will frequently work directly and collaboratively with other staff and volunteers as appropriate, and is expected to pursue the established duties independently.

Requirements:

  • At least five years’ experience of progressively responsible and successful fund development experience, including writing direct mail and email solicitations, segmentation, strategy.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, an ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador for PAWS.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word).
  • Proficiency in the use of donor management software required; experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and have a tactful, mature and sincere attitude.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Washington driver’s license with no major or repeated minor traffic offenses.
