The Manhattan Care Center is often considered Animal Care Center of NYC’s flagship location. As ACC’s largest and most accessible facility, the Manhattan center is the hub for a variety of activities. As with any ACC location, staff from all departments work out of Manhattan, including Animal Care, Client Care, Admissions, New Hope, Adoptions, and more. The assistant manager provides direct leadership and management for the Animal Care and Client Care staff, while collaborating with other departmental heads to provide onsite leadership, direction, and decision making for all staff and departments in the building. Additionally, this location often hosts events, tours, school groups, and city officials and the assistant manager charged with ensuring the facility puts its best foot forward as a representative of the organization. The assistant manager is responsible for ensuring the entire building operates at maximum efficiency with roles ranging from mediator across departments to population management and staff developer.
