The Wisconsin Humane Society is looking for a full-time Database Associate at our Milwaukee Campus! The Database Associate will be a core member of the fundraising team at the Wisconsin Humane Society, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation with four operating locations and a budget of approximately $9 million.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage data entry for development department to ensure accurate and timely gift processing and acknowledgements
  • Enter development departments gifts accurately and timely, sending donor acknowledgements the same day and imputed
  • ​Prepare reports to drive fundraising strategies and opportunities
  • Assist development department with donor reports to support their fundraising efforts for all 4 locations
  • Support the annual mailing campaign through the continuous creation and maintenance of donor lists
  • Ensure the highest customer service with WHS donors and public

About Us: The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is the oldest and largest shelter in Wisconsin. It was founded in 1879 and operates shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Racine Counties, as well as a Spay/Neuter Clinic in West Allis. The organization offers adoption services, educational programming, and veterinary resources for animals from low-income households, retail stores, volunteer programs and dog training classes. The Milwaukee shelter also houses the states busiest Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. WHS is an independent nonprofit and receives no general government funding and is not part of any national umbrella group.

Qualifications: The Database Associate will be a positive, professional, and team oriented individual with the following experience and attributes:

  • 2-4 years data entry experience preferred with demonstrated skills in accurate data entry required
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of fundraising industry preferred
  • Must be confidential, organized, detail-oriented, accurate and efficient; excellent project management skills; strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Professional appearance and presentation
  • Comfortable working under pressure and capable of accepting and completing work assignments with minimal supervision in a highly motivated manner
  • Commitment to treat animals and people with respect and kindness
